Due to dynamic development of NOVUS IP products portfolio, now we introduce new switches – devices necessary in the process of building network video surveillance systems.
NOVUS switches portfolio is based on three models: with 8, 16 and 24 ports. All ports operate in 10/100 Mbit standard. Depending on the switch model, it can have up to 4 UPLINK ports, including ports designated for connecting fibre-optic SFP modules, that ensure long-distance transmission.
To Ethernet UPLINK port a network recorder can be connected or other device requiring higher transfer with transmission range up to 150 m.
A major advantage of IP systems is PoE/PoE+. Switches operate in IEEE 802.3 af/at standard and enable supplying cameras via PoE with up to 30 W of power (for models with built-in IR LED and heater). Power budgets of switches are as follows: 110 W, 250 W and 370 W, and not more than 30 W for one port. The range of signal transmission for above standards are:
PoE+: 20 m, PoE: max 150 m.
Models with 16 and 24 channels can be installed in a rack. Model with 24 channels NV-124S/P+ is a managed switch with a web interface. Among others, settings include: setting priority of ports in access to energy, selective restarting of ports/cameras, forcing the transmission standard for 10/100 Mbit/s port, creating VLANs, and TRUNK function (redundant connection of switches using multiple ports, without loop error risk).
